Wildfire-preparedness Retreat - AT 08-041
Registration Packet (pdf) Registration Form (pdf)
The links above are for the "Volunteers Making a Difference" Retreat schedule and registration information. This Retreat will have Texas Forest Service speakers discussing wildfire-preparedness topics and probably recent wildfires experienced this year in Texas, as well as volunteers discussing how they made the Firewise Communities/USA program work in their Texas communities (see the attached Registration packet). It is being offered to Citizen Wildfire Ecology Specialists (the Texas Forest Service course that our Chapter sponsored in February 2007), Firewise Committee members in Firewise Communities and, upon our request, to our TMN Chapter members. Folks can come for one day, two days or for all three days. The fee covers meals prepared by the Texas Forest Service. Our lodging cost is covered by the Texas Forest Service. The event is being held in the HEB Camp in Leakey. This retreat is approved for HCMN Advanced Training. Please report this event under AT code # 08-041.
The deadline for registration is March 28th. April Phillips at texasUWI@tfs.tamu.edu is handling the registrations. She requested that any one wanting to attend fax her their registration with a note that the check is in the mail.
Keep in mind, they will need to complete the registration form indicating what day/days they will be attending and what meals they will be wanting. Then, submit the form along with the appropriate fees ($10/meal or $35 for entire retreat.) Since we are close to the deadline - it might be a good idea for them to fax the Registration Form (512.321.4819) indicating "the check is in the mail."
Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to call April
at 210.852.4494 or Jan 979.220.1010.
The ninth annual 2008 Nature Quest will be April 22 thru the 27th. Field trips, workshops and seminars will qualify for HCMN Advanced Training. Please report under AT code # 08-044.
